From first questions to final pickup, I'll guide you through each step so your quilt feels cared for and the choices feel easy.
Step 1
Reach Out Anytime
After you contact me, I'll return your email or text as soon as possible. Most customers start with a few basic questions, and I am always happy to answer more as they come up.
Step 2
Schedule a Convenient Appointment
Next, we'll schedule a time that works best for you. Since I work from my home studio, I can usually be flexible with appointment times.
Step 3
Bring Your Quilt Materials
Bring your quilt top, backing, and batting to your appointment. If you need batting, you can also purchase it from me.
Step 4
Choose the Details Together
Together, we'll choose the thread, pantograph, pantograph size, estimated quilting cost, turnaround time, and anything else you want to talk through.
I do not charge separately for thread because I want to use the best thread for your quilt. I also iron quilt tops and backing at no charge before loading them on the frame, and trim quilts also at no charge as the final step.
Step 5
Quilting and Pickup
Quilts are completed in the order they arrive. I'll contact you as soon as your quilt is finished, then we'll schedule a pickup appointment.

Safe, Clean, and Cared For
Everything you bring to me stays safe and clean inside my home, including your quilt, backing, batting, and leftover fabric. I treat each quilt as if it were my very own.

Edge-to-edge quilting is longarm quilting where one continuous pantograph design is stitched across the full quilt top, creating an even, beautiful finish from border to border.
Do you accept mail-in quilts?
No, Susan K Quilting does not currently accept mailed-in quilts but serves local quilters in Escondido, the wider San Diego area, and nearby Orange County and Los Angeles County.

How do I choose a pantograph?
Browse the pantograph gallery, choose patterns that complement your quilt style, or request help picking a design that fits your quilt top.
How should I prepare my quilt top?
Press your quilt top, trim loose threads, and make sure seams are secure. If you need help preparing the backing, ask about quilt backing preparation when requesting a quote.
What is quilt binding?
Quilt binding is the finished fabric edge sewn around a quilt after quilting is complete, protecting the layers and giving the quilt a clean final border.
What is quilt backing preparation?
Quilt backing preparation gets the backing fabric ready for longarm quilting so it can load smoothly and support an even edge-to-edge quilting finish.
How do I request a quote?
Use the quote form to share your project type, preferred pantograph, contact information, and any special requests. I generally reply within 24 hours.
